Our Story
A Church Built on Faith
On June 17, 1957, New Mount Bethel Baptist Church was founded under the leadership of the late Rev. Medrick M. Washington and his wife, Sis. Rose M. Washington. Chartered in 1964, the congregation moved from Albany Street to our current home at 1442 Thirty-First Street in 1985.
Today, under the leadership of Rev. Frederick Matthews, pastor since 1998, New Mount Bethel remains a beacon of hope for the Lincoln Manor community — committed to the four E's: to Exalt the Savior, Edify the saints, Evangelize sinners, and Elevate society.
